KnitYY Knitwear ("we", "us", "our") operates the website knityy.com and provides custom knitwear sample development and OEM manufacturing services to overseas clothing designers and apparel brands. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. By using our website or submitting an inquiry, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you use our inquiry form, we collect the information you voluntarily submit, including your name, email address, WhatsApp number (if provided), and the details you enter in the "What you want" field (such as yarn, gauge, quantity and target price). If you contact us by email or WhatsApp directly, we collect the content of that correspondence.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 4.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: respond to your inquiries; prepare knitwear sampling feedback and quotations; conduct business correspondence and follow up on projects; improve our website, products and services; and, where you have consented or where permitted by law, measure the performance of our advertising.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data on the following legal bases: the processing is necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you (e.g. handling your inquiry and preparing quotations); we have your consent where we use cookies for analytics or advertising, which you may withdraw at any time; and we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving our business, provided this does not override your rights.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience, remember your cookie preferences, and support advertising conversion tracking. On your first visit, a cookie banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so the banner does not reappear. You can change or clear this preference at any time through your browser settings. Declining cookies does not affect your ability to use the website or submit an inquiry.
5. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate this website:
- Formspree — processes submissions of our inquiry form and forwards them to our business email. It has its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
- Meta Pixel (Meta / Facebook) — may be installed to measure advertising conversions and effectiveness. Meta acts as a joint or independent controller for the data it processes, subject to its own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts and Tailwind CDN — load fonts and styling resources; they may receive technical information such as your IP address when resources are served.
These third parties process your data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
6. Data Retention
We retain inquiry submissions and related business correspondence for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and to keep accurate business records, typically for the duration of our relationship and as required by applicable law. Technical log and cookie data are retained only for the period necessary to provide and secure the website.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data with: service providers that help us operate the website (as described in Section 5); parties involved in fulfilling your inquiry, such as shipping and logistics partners if a project proceeds; and authorities or other parties when required or permitted by law to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights or prevent harm.
8. International Data Transfers
Our business is based in Puyuan, Zhejiang, China, and our service providers operate internationally. Your personal data may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than your own, including China and the United States. Where such transfers occur and GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data. By submitting an inquiry, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to receive a copy of your data in a portable format, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are directed to businesses and are not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
